Pre-Season Preparations

The Red Giants will be eagerly welcoming back the rest of the National players in preparation of our pre-season which will be starting real soon.

In the meantime, the pre-season training session was officially held on the 5th of January with players who have been announced as #stillRED (remain with the team) such as Khairulazhan Khalid, Samuel Somerville, Zahril Zabri, Danial Asri, Syahir Bashah, Harith Haiqal, Zikri Khalili , Syahmi Adib, Izwan Yuslan as well as nine Selangor U23 players, who joined the first team training session.

Apart from them, the import players such as Richmond Ankrah, Hein Htet Aung, Yazan Al-Arab and Alexander Agyarkwa have also participated in the training sessions as soon as they arrived in Malaysia.

Selangor FC has also recently announced the team's newest import player, Noor Al-Rawabdeh, to strengthen the midfield for the 2023 season. He, too, has also trained with his new teammates.

According to Tan Cheng Hoe, head coach of Selangor FC, he will wait until the full squad is available before taking the next step.

"It is too early for me to judge the team for now because the pre-season has just only started on the 5th of January, besides not having my full squad back yet.

We have to wait until all the players are back here next week for me and the coaching staff to make an assessment and strategize for the team to perform at its best level this season," said Tan Cheng Hoe during the interview.

The National players have been given a much needed break by head coach Tan Cheng Hoe after playing at the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup, before returning to participate in training sessions next week.

In addition, some friendly matches have also been scheduled for the pre-season.
